YouApp guide
A stablecoin wallet for Malaysiayou can actually spend
The short answer
YouApp gives you a non-custodial stablecoin wallet in Malaysia, powered by Privy, so YouApp never holds or touches your wallet funds or stablecoins. Top up with ERC-20 stablecoins on Ethereum mainnet, by DuitNow transfer or by card, then scan any DuitNow QR and pay in ringgit at Malaysian merchants.

What does a non-custodial crypto wallet mean?
Non-custodial means the app is not holding your money. Your YouApp wallet is powered by Privy, and YouApp never holds or touches your YouApp wallet funds or stablecoins.
Conversion is powered by Sera, a non-custodial settlement protocol, and every payment, conversion and settlement is provided by licensed parties. YouApp is not a bank and does not issue e-money.
What can the wallet hold?
ERC-20 stablecoins on Ethereum mainnet: MYRT, XSGD, JPYC, IDRT and USD stablecoins. Ethereum mainnet is the only network YouApp accepts.
Your spendable balance is shown in MYRT, the Malaysia Ringgit Stablecoin, which is minted and redeemed 1:1 for ringgit with its reserve held at a licensed Shariah-compliant fund. One MYRT is one ringgit, so there is no mental arithmetic at the counter.
How do I put money in?
Three ways, and you can mix them. Crypto is optional.
| Method | What you send | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| ERC-20 stablecoins | MYRT, XSGD, JPYC, IDRT and USD stablecoins | Ethereum mainnet only. Other networks cannot be recovered |
| DuitNow transfer | Ringgit from your bank | No crypto involved. FPX is not supported |
| Debit or credit card | Ringgit | Card processing up to 2% |
Whichever route you take, your balance lands in the same wallet and is credited only after the conversion confirms.
Can I spend it at Malaysian merchants?
Yes. Scan any DuitNow QR and pay in ringgit at more than three million merchant touchpoints across Malaysia.
- Kopitiams, hawker stalls, night markets and cafes
- Pharmacies, petrol stations and mall chains
- Bills and mobile reloads inside the app
- Local hosts, guides and activities you book in YouApp

Merchants are always paid in ringgit by licensed parties and never in stablecoins, so a hawker stall or a pharmacy counter treats your payment like any other DuitNow QR payment.
Is it safe, and who is regulated here?
Every payment, conversion and settlement is provided by licensed parties. The MYRT reserve is held at a licensed Shariah-compliant fund, and merchants are always paid in ringgit.
YouApp is verified-only. Everyone with an account has passed the same identity check, which is why the app can be used safely by travellers and locals who have never met. YouApp is not a bank and not an e-money issuer.
What does the wallet cost to use?
There is no charge for looking. Fees appear on screen before you confirm a payment. The YouApp fee on scan to pay is up to 1.5%, card processing is up to 2%, and limits are RM20,000 per transaction and RM120,000 per month.
Cashback is paid in MYRT at partner merchants, partner hosts and partner activities only, funded by those partners.
